CHRISTY FEST 2008
The book by Catherine Marshall, “Christy,” published more than 40 years ago, is still being celebrated. “Christy” fans have enjoyed a CBS series based on the book along with several made-for-TV movies. This year will make the 11th year of the annual celebration of the story, ChristyFest 2008.
The event is scheduled for June 18-22. In addition to fans of the story getting together to celebrate, other activities include mountain crafts, herbal medicines, the history and lifestyle of early mountain settlements, and music that would have been popular during the time in which “Christy” was set.
