Welcome to the August 2007 issue. This issue talks about some great car shows coming to the region plus a spectacular bluegrass festival. Dollywood is making news with its new Mystery Mine. We also have some cabin news!

CABIN NEWS!!!

We have been working on Laurel Glen cabin to make it more comfortable and fun for your family. The main level bedroom now has a king size log bed. Laurel Glen will sleep 2 to 8 people with 2 king log beds and 2 queen log beds.

Two new televisions have also been added. You will enjoy the new 42” wide screen LCD television (with DVD) in the living room, which includes digital cable plus HBO! Each bedroom plus the playroom has a flat screen cable TV with a DVD player. A large library of movies is available for your family and friends.

We apologize if you have tried to rent Laurel Glen cabin or Pine Cone Lodge and were unable to get the days you want. These two premium cabins fill up quickly! Please reserve your dates early. Many reservations are made weeks in advance and we look forward to you and your family enjoying the comfort and convenience of our cabins in the Smoky Mountains.

CAR SHOWS

September 27 – 29, 2007: The Great Smoky Mountain Auto Fest will be held at Smokies Stadium in Sevierville, Tennessee. A weekend of fun is planned. See all kinds of cars on display plus enjoy a swap meet/car corral, cash giveaways, Thursday Night Cruise-In, Block Party Downtown, live band, door prizes, and much more. October 7 – 8, 2007: The Appalachian Volkswagen Association presents their annual Circle Yer Wagens Volkswagen show at the Sevier County Fairgrounds in Sevierville, Tennessee. DUMPLIN VALLEY BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

If you love bluegrass music, you won’t want to miss the 8th Annual Dumplin Valley Bluegrass Festival, September 13 – 15, 2007 at the Dumplin Ridge Farm in Kodak, Tennessee. There is an incredible lineup of artists this year, including Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, The Grascals, Cherryholmes, and many more! DOLLYWOOD NEWS!

The new ride at Dollywood, Mystery Mine, has been awarded the Best New Theme Park Attraction by www.themeparkinsider.com. This ride is a unique experience with two parts. It takes riders on a thrilling ride with all the exciting lifts and drops and it also puts them into the middle of a Smoky Mountain story. They enjoy the story of a mine and the superstitions that are within.

A new Dollywood attraction is planned for 2008—the River Battle. This will be a water raft ride that will give passengers the chance to soak targets or each other! This new attraction will be located in Timber Canyon, alongside the Mystery Mine roller coaster. There will be 9 rafts that can hold up to 8 passengers and travel the 500-foot channel. Each passenger will have access to a water gun they can aim at more than 100 targets.

WORLD’S BEST KEY LIME PIE RECIPE
This pie is so easy and so good!!!

1 (10-inch) prepared graham cracker pie crust
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
½ cup key lime juice
1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed

In a large bowl, mix together condensed milk and lime juice. Fold in whipped topping and mix until smooth. Pour mixture into graham cracker crust. Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
